17 Students, Two Teachers Benefitted, As OMHS Alumni Partners Kolapo Adesina Foundation On Scholarship Awards


Seventeen Students, drawn from Junior and Senior Secondary Classes benefitted from the 2024 edition of Scholarship Awards,  courtesy of Kolapo Adesina Foundation in collaboration with the Alumni Association of Onaolapo Memorial High School 1992 Set.


In his Lecture, Dr Adebayo Taiwo of the Centre For Entrepreneurship and Vocational Skills Development, Federal Polytechnic, Ede, stressed the need for stakeholders to play their part well, to ensure that children are given sound and qualitative education, for them to be useful.



Speaking on this year's edition of Scholarship Awards, Dr Adebayo Taiwo, who quoted Late Dr Nelson Mandela stressed that education is the most powerful weapon one can use to change the world; nothing that education is not limited to western education but also involves equiping individuals with Knowledge, Skills and Values necessary to succeed.




He therefore commended Kolapo Adesina Foundation and OMHS Alumni Association 1992 Set for the kind gesture, and admonished the beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity, stay focused, committed and also endeavour to give back to their community whenever they are opportune.


In his Speech, the Founder Kolapo Adesina Foundation, who is also an alumnus of Onaolapo Memorial High School, Mr Kolapo Adesina, stressed the need for the students to prioritize Farming and Entrepreneurship as they do to the western education system. He also encouraged them to always be diligent and hardworking; saying he is not rich but always committed to giving back to his Alma matter, hence the beneficiaries too should follow suit when it is their turn.


In their desperate remarks, the national President Onaolapo Memorial High School Alumni Association, Mr Mustapha Adeyemo; the School Principal, the PTA chairman, Alhaji Lasisi Elemosho and the Chairman of the Alumni Association 1992 Set lauded Mr Kolapo Adesina for his kind gesture and urged the beneficiaries not to disappoint their parents, school and benefactor of the Scholarship Awards.


Highlight of the event is the presentation of Award to the three best students and two teachers who excelled in their career as well as Cultural Displays.


Mr Jimoh Oyeniyi, who spoke on behalf of the teachers, and Mrs Lawal Fatima, who spoke for the parents, appreciated Kolapo Adesina Foundation and OMHS Alumni Association 1992 set for the gesture and pledged to ensure that their efforts are not in vain. ###
