Former Presidential Spokesman Claims Late Army Chief Lagbaja Was Poisoned by Military Cabal

A new and startling revelation about the death of late Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja, has been made by Jackson Ude, former presidential spokesman and publisher of Point-blank News. Ude alleges that Lagbaja was poisoned by a military cabal with “sinister motives,” contradicting the official claim that he died from cancer.

Ude, who was the first to report Lagbaja’s death in October, shared this new information on his X handle Thursday, quoting sources within the military. He asserted that the narrative of cancer was fabricated to shield those responsible for the poisoning of the Army Chief.

"The death of General Lagbaja on October 17 was kept from the public due to heightened tensions and fears within the military and the Presidency," Ude said. He explained that when he initially broke the news on October 20, military authorities quickly dismissed it as “fake news.” However, according to Ude’s sources, the claim of cancer was a cover-up to prevent anyone from being held accountable for the poisoning.

Ude further clarified, citing a confidential military source, that Lagbaja did not have cancer. “I knew him personally, and he never mentioned any history of cancer. He was in good health and even active, as seen in a video where he was doing push-ups with soldiers. No one with terminal cancer could do that," the source reportedly stated.

Ude is calling for a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Army Chief's death. He emphasized that as a public official, the details of Lagbaja’s demise should be disclosed.

There are also rumors within the military about a potential coup, although these have been dismissed by high-ranking military leaders. The concerns seem to stem from widespread hardship and insecurity in the country, which is reportedly a growing issue among military personnel.
