APC Will Take Over Power from Adeleke in 2026

Prince Adebayo Adeleke, a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs and an All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Osun State, has expressed confidence that Governor Ademola Adeleke lacks a strong track record to intimidate opponents in the 2026 elections.

Prince Adeleke made this assertion during a media parley organized by the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) in Osogbo on Tuesday.

He criticized the current administration under Governor Adeleke, accusing the governor of mismanaging state funds and deceptive project allocations.

According to him, “Those praising the current administration’s performance are only doing so because they are afraid to speak the truth,” Prince Adeleke said. “The Governor Adeleke-led administration has mismanaged state funds, allocating projects in a deceptive manner.”

Prince Adeleke assured residents of Osun State that the APC will take over power from Governor Adeleke in 2026, citing the declining popularity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).“Nobody is afraid of Governor Ademola Adeleke,” he said. “It is certain that the people of Osun have seen that the PDP is out of government come 2026.”

The APC stalwart also addressed some corrections made by the current administration in terms of project execution, saying, “We are not making mouth, they know it. The more they try to make corrections, the more they sink.”

Prince Adeleke’s comments come amid his ongoing investigation by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over alleged misappropriation of a $20 million project. He has, however, maintained his innocence, stating that he has honored the ICPC’s invitation and presented necessary documents to prove his innocence.
The outcome of the investigation is still pending.
